Doreen Joyce Keating Wallace August 2 1930 January 18 2019 (age 88)

A glorious door for our dear mother, Doreen Joyce (Keating) Wallace, at the age of 88, has opened up to a higher, tranquil home on January 18, 2019.
Doreen was born on August 2, 1930 to WW1 and WW2 veteran Norman Stanley Keating and auxiliary lady, Cleadie Gertrude Keating.
Her late husband, Charles (Tum) Wallace died in 1979 but left her with a cherished family: Charlie (Beth) Wallace, Saint John; Deanne (Dave) Blizzard, Saint John; John (Julie) Stoney Plain, AB; Laura (Glen) Hamilton, Woodman’s Point, Gina, St. George; Dorothy (Art Shephard), Saint John; and George (Jane), Saint John, NB.
A wicked wit and whimsical granddaughter Ann Hamilton would inject laughter into Mom’s daily life, while her two great-granddaughters Abby and Maddie, along with thoughtful parents, Tori and Jordan Dickens, would ensure comic relief at regular visits.
A bigger-than-life, handyman grandson, Dale Hamilton (Antoinette), an over-her-head neighbourly grandson, Malcolm Wallace, and a “fitting” grandson Terry (Danielle) Blizzard would all light up Mom’s face. Granddaughters, all exhuberant and beautiful women, were a joy to Mom: Natasha Savoie, Joanie Wallace and Victoria Dickens are in Saint John; Jamie Lavoie and Jolie Keehn are in Alberta; Ashley Logan is in PEI.
Great grandchildren Brett, Katana, Brianna, Emilie, Aubrey, Titus and Martine were joined this year by great-great granddaughter Paisley, beginning our fifth generation.
Mom leaves behind one charming brother, Norman (Verna) Keating, and a unpretentious sister, Cleadie Barnett. She was blessed with many kind-hearted sister and brother-in laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mom’s boisterous sister-in-law Ann (Paul) Daigle was a kind, supportive confidant for Mom’s entire adult life and Mom thought so much of her nephew Paul (Bill) Daigle and gracious niece Mary Rose Daigle. Nannie Doreen loved and respected everyone.
Mom was predeceased by grandchildren, little angel Tracy Wallace and precious baby James Shephard, brother Murray (Margaret) Keating and sister Mae (Walter) Livingston.
A huge, warm and grateful THANK YOU for the exceptional care and kindness delivered by Dr. Robert Webb. Also to Sue Ward of Extra Mural nursing.
We have been so blessed to have had Mom for all of these miracle years and her wonderful sense of humour. A quote from one of her favourite shows, Laverne and Shirley: « If in heaven we do not meet, hand-in-hand we will stand the heat. »
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home. There will be no visiting or funeral service. A family celebration-of-life will take place in the spring. Donations to Bobby’s Hospice or Donor’s Choice would be appreciated.
