Obituary of Clarice Basford
Passed away peacefully in her 92nd year, after a long and full life, on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at the FJ Davey Home. Clarice will be deeply missed by her husband of 72 years, Bert, her children, John (Sharon), Susan Armstrong (Brian), Wendy Merrett (Ron), her grandchildren, Jeff and Ryan Basford, Angela Dizig (Steve), Shelly Predum (Chris), Derek Armstrong (Tina), John Merrett (Julie), Rebekah Brule (Gilles), her great grandchildren, Paislee and Landon Dizig, Wayne, Connor and Logan Predum, Samantha and Brianna Armstrong, Olivia and Liam Merrett. Clarice is predeceased by her parents, Matilda and Frederick McDonald and her sisters, Pegge Budd (late Howard) and Betty Anderson (late Bud). Sister-in-law of the late Norma Arnold (Charlie). She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Clarice was born in Fort William, Ontario and enjoyed every opportunity she had to travel back “home” for a visit. Her life was enriched by the love of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She treasured every moment she had with them. Clarice has left us with beautiful memories and her love will guide us forever. A special thank you to the staff of Birch Lane 3 for their compassionate care. Respecting Clarice’s wishes, a private celebration of life has taken place. Memorial donations to ARCH or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
