Obituary of Bruce and Sarah Smillie
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our parents Bruce and Sarah (Sally) Smillie.Bruce and Sally passed away peacefully in hospital last week only four days apart.
“It is so much darker when the light goes out than it would have been if it had never shone” quoted by John Steinbeck’s The Winter of Discontent. These are the sentiments we hold today for beloved Bruce and Sally. Their beautiful light has gone out leaving us all in perpetual darkness and sorrow though they will forever live on in the timeless sands of our memories. Kindred spirits they seemed to always be together both in life and departing to rest. The bond of love that connected their hearts was unbreakable, even in the inescapable tragedy of death as they remain eternally united.
Let us celebrate their lives and treasure the moments of their light that had shone upon us leaving behind with us their memory that is everlasting. Sally was forever giving and even in death left the gift of sight to two individuals in need.
We welcome family and friends to join us on Thursday January 24th from 2-4pm at the Tallman Fireside Room, 3277 King Street Vineland, L0R 2C0.
In lieu of flowers we would like to honor Bruce and Sally through donations to the Canadian Cancer Society of Canada.
