Life Story for
Allen “Al” Walker
WALKER, Allen “Al” – Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 6, 2019 at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Donna for 48 years, devoted father of Mark (Lucy) and Melanie (Scott) Donnelly. Adored Grampie of Maia, Ava and Bianca. Dear brother of Joe (Roz) of Ottawa and Vaughn (Marie) of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. Lovingly remembered by brothers and sisters-in-law Harry (Chris) Watling, Leah (Roger) Conroy, Dorothy Watling, Sherry Beach, David (Liz) Watling, Keith (Jan) Watling, and Janet (David) McAllister. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Rita Walker, in-laws Harry and Barbara Watling and brother-in-law Bliss (Dorothy) Watling. Al proudly served in the Canadian Air Force for more than 32 years and after retiring worked another 10 years at Niagara Airbus. He loved hockey and auto racing and could often be found at many local arenas and racetracks. His greatest joys were his granddaughters and spending countless mornings and time together.
The family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main St., on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate the life of Al will be held at Stamford Lane United Church on Friday at 11 a.m. Following with Al’s wishes cremation has taken place.
Those who wish may make a memorial donation to the IWK Halifax Children’s Hospital, McMaster Children’s Hospital or Stamford Lane United Church.
