Obituary of KATARINA KOVACEVIC
KATARINA KOVACEVIC
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Katarina Kovacevic on January 3, 2019, at the age of 89, with her family by her side.
Katarina was predeceased by her husband Vasily Kovacevic in 1985 and will be lovingly remembered by her son Alex (Elaine), daughter Mira (John), grandchildren Bob, Cathy, Jason, Jocelyn, Melanie, great-grandchildren Chantel, Kristina, Kieran, Jessica, Alex, Brady, Connor, Caleb, Emily, Hayden, Kellan, Daxton, and Jaxton, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Katarina was born in Cetingrad, Croatia. She left her homeland and arrived in Canada on November 27, 1952. Katarina and Vasily eventually settled in Winnipeg to begin a new life. Katarina loved crocheting and knitting, making countless mats for her home and clothing items for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and cooked amazing traditional Croatian food.
The family would like to extend sincere thanks to all the staff at St. Joseph’s Residence for the respectful and kind care that our mother received for nine years.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 10:00am at St. Nicholas Tavelich Croatian Parish, 2688 Main Street. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of KATARINA
