SPENCER: Willie Lorance “William”
Passed away peacefully at his home on Monday January 28, 2019. Willie Spencer of Lakefield in his 84th year. Willie spent 9 years with the Royal Canadian Regiment before his 29-year career with Lakefield Research (Pilot Plant). After his retirement he spent 9 years as a bar steward with the R.C.L. Branch 77, Lakefield. Loved and missed by his wife of 43 years, Jean (Doughty). Loving father of Billy, Stephen of St. Albert, Alberta, Teri-Lyne Hinds (Garnet) of Lakefield and Billyjoel Hunt of St. Albert, Alberta. Dear Bumpa of Melissa, Richard, Erika, Adam, Autumn, Tyler, Jared, Kyra, Gregory and Emma-Leigh. Survived by his sisters Evelyn Eagleton (the late Bill) of Peterborough, Rita Reuter (Mike) of Whitby, brother Michael Spencer (the late Eva) of Ennismore and brother-in-law Mike Knowles. Predeceased by his parents, sons Harold and David, sisters Theresa Flagler (Steve), Marie Blodgett (Don), Marcella Shaw, Pearl Knowles and brothers Pat Spencer (Edna), Art Spencer, Pete Spencer (Marion), Garry Spencer (Sharon), Donny Spencer (Clela) and Tommy Spencer. Dearly missed by his cats Fancy & Baby. A Celebration of Willie’s Life will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield, on Thursday January 31, 2019 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will commence at 12:30 PM. A reception will follow at the R.C.L. Branch 77, Lakefield. Memorial donations may be made to the Lakefield Animal Welfare Society (L.A.W.S.), St. Elizabeth Healthcare or the R.C.L.
