Doris Schraa 2019

OBITUARY
Doris Schraa
August 4, 1936 – January 12, 2019
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Doris Schraa on January 12, 2019 in her 83rd year. She was born in Wuppertal-Barmen, Germany on August 4, 1936 and immigrated to Canada in 1956, where she met her Karl, her beloved husband of 56 years. Doris was trained as a dressmaker in Germany and in Canada worked at Coppley, Firth Brothers, Woolco (Grafton-Fraser), and finally as a department manager at Walmart. Doris loved reading, sewing, knitting, and cooking. After retirement, Doris and Karl built their dream cottage and enjoyed traveling to Florida and Germany. Doris is now reunited with her loving husband Karl and is survived by her son Oliver (Christine), aunt Ursel, cousins Donald (Sue) and Rainer (Manuela), nephews Roland (Michele), Peter (Carol), Willi (Ingelore), Frank, niece Anna Marie and their extended families. The family wishes to thank all our neighbours and friends, and Dr. Khalidi at the Vasculitis clinic at St. Joseph’s Healthcare. If friends desire, donations can be made to St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. A celebration of life will be held at the Cresmount Funeral Home – Fennell Chapel, 322 Fennell Ave East, Hamilton, ON L9A 1T2 on Saturday, January 26, 2019 between 2 and 4 PM.
Forever in our thoughts, until we meet again. We love you!
