Russell Arthur Lyman 19502019

Russell Arthur Lyman
1950-2019
Russell Arthur Lyman, 68,
of Germantown passed away peacefully on January
20th, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer, his loving family by
his side.
Russell was born in West River on November 26,
1950 the son of the late Raymond and Lila (Campbell)
Lyman.
Russell worked in construction his whole life and last
worked with Galbraith Construction Limited in Saint John for over 25
years until his illness. He was a hard worker and enjoyed
running the crushing plant and doing whatever needed done.
His work truck and equipment were kept in immaculate condition and you
could eat off the floor of any of his gear. He
also had his own Lyman ‘s Backhoe & Trucking that he operated
in his spare time. All the local people of Albert County
knew if they needed anything he was only a phone call away, whether it
be a load of sand, gravel, some excavating or backhoe work he would be
there as soon as possible. He also volunteered his time and
equipment for the Waterside Cemetery. He attended the West
River United Church and really enjoyed the social times they
had. Russell was always laughing, teasing and telling
stories, you never knew what he was going to come up with.
He loved music nights and enjoyed being on the stage some nights as
his performances were very spontaneous. Russell had Saturday
morning gatherings at his garage in West River “Lyman’s
Garage” where all his friends gathered for coffee and to see what
was going on in the community before starting their day of
work. Russell was definitely one of a kind and his family
has many good memories to help them through this time. He
would want everyone to remember a funny story and have a laugh as they
recall his antics. He kept his sense of humour right till
the end. He appreciated all the love and support of his
family and friends as he dealt with his illness and felt so blessed to
have everyone there for him when he needed them most. He has
left us physically but he really is only a smile away. ” Forever
in our hearts.”
He will be deeply missed by his special companion, Linda
(Wilbur) Brewster of Germantown; daughters, Amanda Lyman (Everett) of
Hopewell Hill and Carly Lyman (Justin) of Riverside-Albert; his son,
Evan Lyman (Jillian) of Hopewell Hill; his precious grandchildren,
Konnor, Joseph, Andrew, Paige, Ethan, Matthew, Quinn and James;
sisters, Elsie Hickey (Bob) of Riverview, Elaine McClure (John) of
Germantown and Darlene Kelly (John) of Riverview; brothers, Leland
Lyman (Brenda) of West River and James Lyman (Phyllis) of West
River. He will also be missed by several nieces, nephews;
mother of his son, Dana- Barbara Butland; his special cat, Marmalade
and by many good friends.

Russell Lyman; infant brother William Nelson Lyman and mother of his
