NEIDRAUER, Barbara Rose Marie (Sydney) – Surrounded by her loving children, Barbara Rose Marie Neidrauer (nee Sydney) went to be with the Lord at the age of 88 on Monday, January 14, 2019, at 2:55 a.m.
Born on March 9, 1930 to Frank and Petronella “Nell” Sydney (nee Koning), Barbara was the eldest of four siblings: William “Bill” Sydney (Ruth) (both deceased), Sylvia “Syl” Malec (nee Sydney) (deceased), and Joan Rolland (nee Sydney) (John) (both deceased). She is survived by her sister-in-law Lois Neidrauer.
Barbara was married in 1947 to the love of her life, Thomas “Mervin” Neidrauer (deceased). Barbara and Mervin had four children; Randolph “Ron” Neidrauer (Ann), Virginia “Ginnie” Crapun (nee Neidrauer), Paul Neidrauer (Diane), and Kim Neidrauer (deceased). She was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren: Brenda Tarsa (nee Crapun) (Aaron) and their son Eli Tarsa, Shane Grecula and his daughter Page Bonus, Brett Crapun, Danielle LaRue (nee Neidrauer) (Geoff) and their daughter Charli LaRue and their son Maxon LaRue, Brad Crapun (fiancee Erin Jorgensen), Jaclyn Caione (nee Neidrauer) (Michael) and their son Mason Caoine, and Roni-Ann Neidrauer (Chris Stanley) and their son Caden Stanley.
After living in Orillia, Ontario, Mervin and Barbara moved to Manitouwadge, Ontario in 1957 where Barbara worked as an office manager for the Hudson Bay Company. In 1979, they moved to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario where Barbara assisted Mervin with his work for the Algoma District Fire Marshall’s office. She was also very involved with her church. Those who knew Barbara knew her for her beauty both inside and out, her kind and loving nature, her strength, strong faith in the Lord, and her love for children and family. A celebration of life will take place in the spring with family and friends. Barbara will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many special nieces, nephews, and friends.
“Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness. She watches over the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her.” Proverbs 31:25-28.
The family would like to thank Drs. Fera, Kargbo, and Dawson and the many nurses at Sault Area Hospital for the excellent care Barbara received.
