Lloyd’s Obituary
NEW GLASGOW – Lloyd Clarence Murray, 83, New Glasgow, passed away, Friday, January 11, 2019 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Folly River, he was a son of the late Loyde Garland and Margot Florence (Hayes) Murray. He served in the Canadian Army with the Signal Corps and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Lloyd was involved in his community and possessed an “activist spirit” when presented with problems requiring solutions. He enjoyed was inquisitive and very appreciative of his Christian faith. Lloyd will be remembered as a man of resolve and with fondness by those he loved.
Surviving are his wife, Joan (Field); daughter, Linda (Tony) Ouwendyk, Barrie, Ont.; granddaughter, Angela Romano and her daughter, Breanna, Barrie; step-son, Keith (Lisa), Dartmouth; step-grandson, Graeme (Erin), Halifax; brother, Glenwood (Pearl) Murray, French River; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Mildred Joyce “Millie” (King); grandson, Jay Ouwendyk; sisters, Edna and Marilyn; brother, Garfield.
In keeping with Lloyd’s wishes his life will be celebrated privately. Interment will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens at a later date.
