Clarke, John Allister – age 73 of River John, passed away peacefully January 10, 2019 in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, he was the son of the late Peter and Juanita (Roop) Clarke. John was a carpenter by trade. He loved sports and was a big fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays and at one time served on the Executive of Tatamagouche Minor Hockey Association. He loved animals, especially his dog, Brat and was an avid hunter and fisher. Surviving are his sons, Kevin (Amanda), Halifax, and John (Elizabeth), River John; eight grandchildren; a great granddaughter; brother, Kenneth (Anita), River John; nieces and grand nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Leroy. Cremation has taken place. No visitation to be held. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche, Rev. Doug Pilsworth officiating. Donations in John’s memory to assist the family would be appreciated. Interment will be at a later date in West Branch Cemetery.
