MacPherson, Anne Sarah
Age 67 of Halifax, passed away peacefully Monday morning, January 7, 2019 in The Halifax Infirmary. Born in Inverness, she was the daughter of the late Angus Dan and Mary Margaret “Peggy” (nee MacLellan) MacPherson. Sarah is survived by her daughters Valerie MacMillan (Brad), Stellerton; Natalie (Jason) Ryan, Marathon; On; Shelley MacLean (Josh), Halifax. Grandchildren, Lakyon, Axyle, Harley, Jolie, Jonathon and Austin. Sisters, Florence MacPherson & Marie MacPherson Port Hawksbury; Isabel MacPherson, Halifax and brother Paul MacPherson, Halifax. She was predeceased by a sister Alexina Morrison, Bridgewater MA and brothers, Donald Andrew MacPherson and Donnie MacPherson.
Sarah grew up in Blackstone and later moved to Inverness where she raised her three daughters. During that time she worked in the kitchen at The Inverary Manor. She later moved to Marathon ON where she did custodial work. She also worked for The Ministry of Transportation and was an Intake worker for The Cross Roads Centre and The John Howard Society in Thunder Bay ON. She educated herself, obtaining a Drug and Alcohol Counsellor Diploma, Social Service worker Diploma, Microcomputers Business Application, Addictions Worker Diploma and took a Travel and Tourism Course. Some of her passions were driving, writing, taking pictures, spending time at the beach and spending time with family and friends. Sarah made friends with everyone she met with her witty, kind and generous personality. She will be deeply missed. Thanks so much to all the doctors and nursing staff on floor 8.2 at The Halifax Infirmary. As per her request, her remains have been donated to Dalhousie University Medical Science. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
