Obituary for Winifred Jean Baker (Cooney)
BAKER Winifred “Jean” (nee. Cooney) – With family by her side, passed away peacefully at Northland Pointe on Sunday, January 28, 2018 in her 101st year. Beloved wife of the late Harley “Jack” Baker (1994). Predeceased by her brothers Harold Cooney, Jim Cooney (Mel), Bill Cooney and sister Betty White (Ken) and her nephew Larry Cooney. Survived by her nephews Dennis Cooney (Diane), Patrick Cooney (Flori), Gary White (Gail) and nieces Catherine Mullin, Bonnie Collings (Roy) and Carol Cooney. She will also be sadly missed by many great-nephews and nieces. Jean was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church and was an active member of the Altar Guild for many years. The family wishes to thank Sarah Sharpe and the staff of Family Links Home Health Care for their many years of wonderful, loving care. They would also like to thank the staff of Harbour Heights at Northland Pointe for the compassion and great care shown to Jean and her family. The family will receive friends at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Saturday, February 3rd, 2018 from 12 noon until the time of service in the chapel at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Fonthill Cemetery. Memorial donations to St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
