Wilson’s Obituary
It is with sadness and heavy hearts, the family of the late Wilson Elwood Penney of Pasadena, NL wish to announce his passing on October 17, 2018 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in his 74th year. He is survived by his beloved wife Jean; his cherished children Dale Penney (Gerry Thistle) Brampton, ON, Dawn Penney (Brent Mackey) Massey Drive; his precious grandchildren who were the joy of his life, Matthew and Haley Thistle, Kelsey and Ryan Green; Brother: Monty (Marilyn) Penney Pasadena; Sisters: Daphne (Wayne) Badcock Halifax, NS, Emmie Penney (Otto Goulding) Pasadena; Sisters-In-Law: Peggy (Eric) Young Corner Brook, Beverley Urquhart Steady Brook, Brenda (Tony) Howell Mt. Pearl, Janice Simmonds Mt. Pearl; Brother-In-Law Bill Simmonds (Faye Gear) Embree. Special friends Phonse George and Chris Bennett also many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and co-workers. Wilson was predeceased by his parents Hedley and Louise Penney, Father-In Law Reg Simmonds and Mother-In-Law Phyllis Simmonds, Brothers-In-Law Allan Best and Don Urquhart. A special thank you to all the nurses and constants and doctors on 4AB, also a special thank you to Dr. Desiree Dunn for her kindness, compassion and dedication. To all the nurses who are so special on the Palliative Care Unit. In keeping with Wilson’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road from the hours of 7 to 9 pm on Thursday, October 18, 2018. There will be no formal funeral at this time. Interment will take place at a later date.As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Western Memorial Regional Hospital or to a charity of one’s choice.
