It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Wilma Maxime (Tidd) Holland which occurred at Carleton Kirk Nursing Home on Friday, November 2nd, 2018. Born 1929, in Grand Manan, NB, she was the daughter of the late James and Florence (Gavel) Tidd. Wilma was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan, a bookkeeper and a decorated bowler. She served as President of the Fundy Bowling League for many years. Wilma was a gardener, knitter, organ player and lover of music, especially Gospel. She was a loving wife, a steadfast sister to her siblings, a gentle Mother and caring Nana.
Wilma is survived by her loving and devoted husband Donald of 65 years; sons Martin and David Holland of Saint John; daughter Cathy Partridge (Tom) of St. Andrews; brother Perley Tidd (Marlene) of Bridgewater, NS; sister Noreen Stefanidis (Steve) of Toronto, ON; grandchildren Melanie and Alan; great grandchildren Sydney and Addison; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents, Wilma was predeceased by her brothers Martin, Lewellyn and Theodore, sisters Bernice and Melba, along with her daughter-in-law Susan.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). In keeping with Wilma’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Private family services will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Wilma may be made to the SPCA-Animal Rescue or to the charity of the donor’s choice
