Obituary of William Wallace
William Strathearn Wallace, 81, of Vineland, Ont., and formerly of Milton, Ont., passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton, Ont. Bill was born in Glasgow, Scotland to Margaret & William Wallace. One of seven children, he is now only survived by his sister Winifred Mudgett of Bluffton, South Carolina. Bill spent the greatest portion of his life living in Canada, and a short time in the USA. Although a faithful Canadian citizen, he considered himself a Scotsman first and foremost.
He was lucky enough in life to know the love of two incredible women. He is predeceased by Elizabeth, his first wife and the mother of his two loving sons, Douglas and Stephen. He is also predeceased by a beautiful, sweet granddaughter, Montana. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret. Margaret’s love, and the love of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him so much joy and comfort.
Bill was a good, honest gentleman who loved and was loved by those who knew him. He possessed a wry sense of humor – one of the funniest men you could meet. He appreciated Mother Nature as well as human nature.
He served his country in the British Military honorably and with distinction. He worked hard and succeeded at every challenge he was presented with in life. He changed a lot of peoples’ lives for the better. Like most, he knew joy and tragedy but faced each with dignity and grace. He will be greatly missed.
A service to celebrate William’s life will be held on Saturday May 26th at 11:00am, at St. Helen Church, 4106 Mountain St., Beamsville, Ont. In lieu of flowers, please be extra kind to the ones you love and the ones who love you.
