Obituary for
William Lester “Bill” Durkee
Durkee, William Lester “Bill”, passed away May 19,2018, following the death of his wife Lorraine Dorothy (Boudreau) Durkee, two weeks prior on May 5th. William was born April 9, 1922, in Brockton, MA. His family returned to Yarmouth while he was still a child. He and Lorraine lived and worked in Oshawa, Ontario, returning to Yarmouth in 1975. He leaves behind his son, Kenneth Winter, Brenton, and step-daughter Elizabeth (Tom) Cushing, Greenwood; as well as Elizabeth’s two children and five grandchildren, all of Ontario; two brothers, Harley, Ontario, and Arthur, Yukon. He was predeceased by his parents, Lester and Martha (Harley) Durkee; twin sisters Annie and Eileen; sisters Marion and Mary. Cremation has taken place. There will be a graveside service, May 26,2018 at 11 am at the Hillside Cemetery, South Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth.
