William King
January 5, 1921 – June 25, 2018
William King, January 5, 1921- June 25, 2018, sadly passed away in his 98th year.
Predeceased by his wife, Isabella Munro, daughter Margaret Elizabeth Cromwell (Harold), his grandson, Carl Johnson and his siblings Annie, Jean, Lizzie, Joseph and Patrick of Edinburgh, Scotland.
Mourned by his daughters, Mary Ann Johnson (Carl), Helena Crews (Carl), his Granddaughters, Heather Joy Cromwell, Jennifer Baldasaro (Rob), Sharon Hartzell (Bill), Diane Johnson; and his Grandsons Brian Crews(Cyndi) and Robert Crews. Great-Grandfather of Joey Burrow, Andrew, Jessica and Emma Crews, Sophia and Madeline Baldasaro
William was a Veteran of World War II, serving with Distinction as decorated seaman of the Royal Navy from 1938 to 1950. In 1967, he emigrated to Canada from his native Scotland, with his wife Isabella and daughter Margaret. He was a proud member of the Lion Rampant Accordion Band of Kitchener, winning awards and recognition. As a war veteran, he was a member of R.C.L Branch 272 and A.N.A.F. 247.
William was praised and loved as a sweet man and he will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
William’s family will receive relatives and friends at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre 1001 Ottawa St. S. Kitchener, Ontario (519-743-8900) on Thursday July 5th, 2018 from 1-3p.m., followed by a funeral service here in our Chapel at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund are greatly appreciated.
