William Domanko
It is with deep sadness that the family of William Domanko announces his passing on January 11, 2018 at the age of 96 to enter into eternal life. William was predeceased by his wife Belle in 2006. He is survived by his three children Wayne (Jane), Valerie (Alan) and Bill (Sandra); 7 grandchildren and 11 grandchildren whom he loved all very dearly. He is also survived by his sister, Phyllis Marianchuk and brother, Joe (Olga). William cared about people and was always ready to help others and try to make things better for them. Throughout his life he demonstrated strength and ability to meet life’s challenges with dignity. His greatest legacy to his family was his unwavering and unconditional love and support. He was a lifetime member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Insinger, Yorkton and Saskatoon. He was Postmaster in Insinger for 12 years and also took an active part in community affairs being on the village council for several years, taught Sunday school and was Director of the Church Choir. In Yorkton he took an active part in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and was assistant treasurer for 5 years. William was also employed for 22 years with the Dept. of Indigenous Affairs as Dept of Finance & Audit Office, Yorkton District. After retiring in 1981 he volunteered his services to the Canadian Executive Services Organization until 1995. William and Belle moved to Saskatoon in August 1997. Strong faith in God sustained him throughout his life. He always said “I will give my life up for Jesus for he gave up his life for me.”
