Obituary of William “Bill” Baird
BAIRD: Unexpectedly after a short but well fought battle, George William “Bill” Baird of Grand Bend passed away on Sunday February 18th, 2018 in a Florida hospital, at the age of 83. Beloved wife of Norma (Fraser) “his everything” for 61 years. Devoted and loving father of Stephen and Kim Baird of Grand Bend, Tom and Brenda Baird of London, Lori and Brad Baker of Exeter and the late Brian Baird (1994). Best Grandpa EVER of Jenalyn and Matt Ignor, Marley Baker and her friend Scot Ferguson, Brandon and Jennifer Baird, Kristopher and Amanda Baird and Breanne Baird. Extremely proud Great Grandpa of Luxe and Laken Ignor. Dear brother-in-law of George and Bernice Fraser, Ken and Barb Fraser, Morley and Diane Fraser and Marlene and Allan Hayter. Remembered by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents Tom Baird (1984) and Adella Baird (1998) and sister and brother-in-law Mona (2005) and Carl Vanner (2001). At Bill’s request, cremation has taken place. At this time, no formal services will be held. A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held at a later date, at the Grand Bend Legion – date and time to be announced. Arrangements entrusted to the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood. If desired, memorial donations (payable by cheque) can be made to S.H.H.F. – Jessicia’s House, or London Health Sciences – Thoracic Unit, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
