Bill was a leap year baby, born February 29, 1924. His parents were Demetri (Jim) and Grace (Weaver) Kozroski. Bill now rests in peace with his wife, Blanche (Morin), who passed away in September 2011, and his daughter, Patricia, who passed away in June 1997. Bill is survived by his son, Dennis (Gayle) Kozroski; daughters, Carol (Ernie) Sommer, Linda (John) Ward, Kerry (Lynn) Packard; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Ruth Morin/McAlpine and sisters-in-law, Mabel Moller (Blanche’s sister) and Mary (Don) Morin, along with many nieces and nephews. Bill and Blanche married July 3, 1944. They raised their family and farmed many years in the Grassy Hills District south of Gull Lake. Bill semi-retired to their new home in Gull Lake in 1976, where he later fully retired. As of August 2007, Bill and Blanche resided at the Gull Lake Autumn House Independent Living Facility. In the spring of 2011, due to Bill’s health changes, he moved to the Gull Lake Special Care Home. Billy loved the farm life, which consisted of cattle (milk cows, range cattle and feed lot), pigs, horses, and poultry; that, along with grain farming, haying, and fencing for the livestock, kept him very busy. Life in the country also meant enjoyable times spent with neighbours, helping with branding, etc. and of course, swimming in the creek. After retirement, his favourite thing was to go for a drive in the country, take in the view, check the cows and baby calves in the spring, and check out all the activities that happened on the farm. Bill also took on many volunteer positions: United Church board member for Garden Head United Country Church and Gull Lake Knox United Church, R.M. Councillor for Carmichael, Legion Associate Member, and Member of the Rebekah’s/Odd Fellows Lodge. Bill’s family wishes to thank all the caregivers that watched over Bill for the past 7 years at the Gull Lake Special Care Home. Donations in Bill’s memory many be made to the Gull Lake Special Care Home Auxiliary or to Autumn House Independent Living Facility. Warren’s Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
