The family of William “Bill” Howard Wagner beloved husband of Olga of Harris, is saddened to announce his passing on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the Royal University Hospital at the age of 77 years.
Bill was born in Rosetown, SK on August 20, 1940. He was the second of three children to Howard and Donella Wagner. He was educated at Harris and Rosetown and played hockey for both of these teams. He married Olga Rabuka on October 7, 1961, they had two children Gregory and Jamie. Bill and Olga moved to a farm west of Harris in 1966. It was here they started a mixed farm where he was involved in the grain business and livestock. Bill had a real love for working with livestock, this really showed when he built up one of the best herds of Charolais show cattle in the Canadian and U.S industry.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Olga, two children, five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter: son Gregory (Sandra) Wagner and their three children Amanda Wagner, Jillian Wagner and Mitchell Wagner; daughter Jamie (Keith) Tyson and their two children Shaw Tyson and Amber Tyson and Amber’s daughter Charlotte. He is also survived by his sister Carol Cox, brother Ron (Judy) Wagner, four nieces, two nephews, one brother-in-law Larry (Elaine) Rebuka and Larry’s son Quentin. Bill was predeceased by his parents, nephew Garry Cox and brother-in-law Bill Cox.
Bill was a very loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will live on in his family forever.
A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Harris Community Centre with Reverend Jo-Ann Hills officiating. Donations in memory of Bill may be made to the Harris Cemetery, P.O. Box 124, Harris, SK, S0L 1K0.
