Obituary Overview
William Hammond
HAMMOND, William (Bill) James
Passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 20, 2018 in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Marion for 63 years. Loving father of Lynn (Gary), Rick (BJ), Kathy (Charles) and Dave (Donna), grandfather to Sarah (Steve) and Martin (Paige). Predeceased by his brother Marv. Bill will be fondly remembered by Tracy and Kevin, Victor and Judy. After a 44 year career in Customer Service at Stanley Works, Bill continued to serve others at Weeks Home Hardware in Waterdown for 11 years. An avid sportsman, Bill rowed at Leander Boat Club, played hockey for the Hamilton Tigers and was an impressive golfer – getting a hole-in-one at the Chedoke Golf Club (he told us often). The family wishes to thank the dedicated doctors and nurses from St. Joseph’s Hospital – Intensive Care Unit as well as the team from the 4th Floor Chest Unit for their exceptional end-of-life care. Cremation has already taken place. Friends and family will be received at the DODSWORTH & BROWN FUNERAL HOME, ROBINSON CHAPEL, 15 West Avenue North, Hamilton, Ontario L8L 5B9, 905-522-2496 on Sunday, December 23, 2018 from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. For those wishing to donate, please consider “St. Joseph’s Hospital – Palliative Care Unit”.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of William Bill Hammond 2018..
