William (Bill) James Martin Goetz
July 30, 1933 – November 6, 2018
On November 6, 2018, William (Bill) Goetz passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Guelph in his 86th year. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (Betty; nee Anstett). Loving father of Connie General and Andrew (Gator) Goetz. Cherished Poppa to Mandy and Jesse General; Bryce and Cameron Goetz. Bill is predeceased by his parents, Amanda and Harlis Goetz, his brother George Goetz and his son-in-law Dwayne General. Dear brother-in-law of Mary Reddon of Guelph, Edward and Mary Anstett of Brantford, and Ray Anstett of Seaforth.Dear brother-in-law of Mary Reddon of Guelph, Edward and Mary Anstett of Brantford,
Ray Anstett of Seaforth and Joan Anstett of Walkerton.
Bill was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Col. John McCrae Memorial Branch 234 in Guelph.
Friends will be received at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St N, Guelph, on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 2-4, and 7-9pm. A funeral Mass for Bill will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 98 Alice St, Guelph, on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Marymount Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund or to Diabetes Canada would be appreciated by the family. Donation cards are available at the funeral home, (519-822-4731), or online condolences may be left at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com.
