Lovingly Remembered
William (Bill) Earl George Dickson, known to those close to him as “Will-Yum” passed away in his sleep on March 4, 2018.
Bill will be lovingly and eternally remembered by Shirley, his wife, of just shy of 65 years. He will be missed by his children, Rick (Janice), Don (Elaine), and Dalyce (Gord); his grandchildren, Nathan, Jason, Brandi, Ryan and Dylan; and great grandchildren Jenna, Dorian, Alyssa, Taya and Tyler and his brother Jack (Florence). Bill was predeceased by his son, Michael, and Brother Eric (Sheila). He will also be very fondly remembered by a multitude of extended family and friends.
Bill started out working as a jack of all trades as a miner in Canmore, a sewing machine salesman, and homebuilder before embarking on a legendary Real Estate Career as a Salesperson with Westmar Realty and later as a Broker when he opened Centennial Realty in 1967. Bill was very committed to organized Real Estate and served as the President of the Canadian Real Estate Association, The Calgary Real Estate Board, and 1st Vice-President of the Alberta Real Estate Association for two terms (as much as Bill wanted to break new ground) they wouldn’t let him be the President of the Alberta Real Estate Association and the Canadian Association at the same time. Bill was an Honorary Life Member of both the Alberta Real Estate Association and the Calgary Real Estate Board with more than 60 years of membership.
The entire Dickson Family wishes to thank the incredible staff at Carewest Sarcee for their genuine, compassionate, and professional, above and beyond care and concern for Bill and his whole family. They made a tough time much easier to deal with and provided a high level of comfort and confidence that Bill was being well looked after.
A Memorial Service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, (Prairie View Chapel, 1605 – 100 Street SE, Calgary) on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers we would ask that our friends and family consider a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
