Wilfred Herman Hastman 1939 – 2018

1939 – 2018
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wilfred, our dear Father and Grandfather, at the age of 78, on March 3, 2018 at the Beausejour Hospital following a short battle with cancer.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Vionna and by his parents Herman and Elsie Hastman.
Dad will be lovingly remembered by his children, Catherine (Jeff), Roderick, Wayne (Monica), Cheryl (Rodney), David (Leann); his grandchildren Alex, Braden, Devan, Ian, Kegan and by his sisters and brothers; Audrey (late Herb), Raymond (Joyce), Nelson (Mary-Ann), Doris (Rod) and in-laws Janice and Gordon Fiebelkorn. He will also be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.
Dad was born April 24, 1939 in the R.M. of Brokenhead and grew up on the family farm in Golden Bay. He had a fulfilling banking career with RBC that moved him to many rural communities in Manitoba over the course of 37 years. Getting together with his family to celebrate special occasions was very important to Dad. Dad was very social in nature and enjoyed his coffee gangs and old-time dancing, but his favourite pastime was camping. Mom and Dad had a special bench at Clear Lake where they loved to sit together and watch the sun set.
In honour of Dad’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no funeral service will be held. The family will have a private interment at a later date.
Rest in peace Dad.
