James Harold “Jim” Weaver, 81, of Pleasant Valley, Pictou County, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Edward and Evelyn (Drysdale) Weaver.
Jim was a good husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and was respected by all.
He was a heavy equipment operator until his retirement. Jim was a great outdoors man, enjoying the woods, especially ATV ing. He and his wife enjoyed their winter trips to Florida, fishing on Flagler Beach .
Jim will be dearly missed by his wife Phyllis (Oliver); daughter Wendy Conrad (Jack), Halifax; son Ed (Mary MacNeil), Halifax; grandchildren, Jacquelyn LeRue (Melvin), Stephanie LeRue (Brad), and Shelby Weaver; grandchildren, Carter, Enzo, and Laurenn; sisters, Judi Cloran (Mike), Bonnie Field (Bob); sister-in-law Beatrice Weaver; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his twin brother, John and infant brother and sister David and Joan.
His family will receive visitors on Monday from 7-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service will be held at 11 o’clock Tuesday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville, with Rev. Mary Taylor officiating. Spring interment will be in the Auburn Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Palliative Care or the Crohn’s and Colitis Society.
