1939-2018
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Wanda Jean
(Haslett) (Cusack) Cushing announces her passing, which occurred at
the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, June 24, 2018.Born in
Saint John, N.B., she was the daughter of the late William and Ethel
(Foster) Haslett.
Wanda worked at Pascal Emersons before she was
married. She operated the canteen at the Rockwood Park Golf Course for
many years. She was also the secretary of the Saint John Speed Skating
Club. After moving to the Loch Lomand Villa, she enjoyed many nights
of bingo with her friends. She lived her life through her children,
grandchildren, and their friends.
Wanda is survived by her sons Tom (Cathy) of
Summerville, John (Wendy) of Saint John, and Jeff (Krissy) of
Summerville; daughter Mary Thompson (Daryl) of Yukon; brother James
Haslett; grandchildren Luanna (Ethan), Mark (Leah) Thompson, Jennifer
(Tristian), Michael, Nicholas, Taylor, Sarah, Erin, Kate, and Hayden
Cusack; her extended family Jackson and Craig, as well as many nieces
and nephews.
Aside from her parents, she is predeceased by her
1st husband Francis Cusack,
2nd husband George Cushing, son Mark Cusack,
and brothers William and Gordon Haslett.
Resting at
Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint
John, N.B. (634-7424), with visitation on Monday, June
25, 2018 from 2:00 – 8:00 PM. A mass of Christian Burial
will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at St. Pius X Church at 12:00
PM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
