WALTER ALVIN BRAUN
Walter was born on July 18, 1929 in Watson, SK to Paul and Erna Braun. He passed away in Regina, SK on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the age of 88 years. Walter was predeceased by his parents Paul and Erna; his son-in-law Keith; his sister Irene Kon and his brother-in-law Dan Kon. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Fern (Hartley) Braun; children Paula (Allen) Marshall, Erna Matthews, Rhonda (Scott) Murray, Bye (Lori) Braun and Vivian Braun; grandchildren Chad (Kim) Marshall, Spencer (Andrea) Marshall, Vincent (Sylvia) Marshall, Arlen (Lauren) Marshall, Colter Matthews, Cameron Matthews, Caitlin (Drake) Matthews, Neil Murray, Shawn Murray, David (Dana) Murray, Skye Braun (Nick Pernitsky), Ashton (Caine) Stuparyk, Tanner Braun, Taylor Braun and Karleen Marshall; great-grandchildren Jake and Claire Marshall, Addison, Nikki and Eli Marshall, Nadia Marshall, Hartley Matthews, Max and April Coulter, Lauren Murray, Kaden, Taryn, Mailey and Branlin Pernitsky and Pearson and Rylann Stuparyk.
Walter was an active participant in the community life of Quill Lake for many years. He served on Town Council, on the Recreation and School Boards, was the Fire Chief and an active member of the Kinsmen. He also loved coaching, playing and officiating both baseball and hockey as well as being an avid curler. He loved his family and enjoyed laughing at a good joke. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
