Obituary of Veronica McGrath
McGrath (nee Connors), Veronica, age 69 (November 19, 1949 – December 21, 2018), passed peacefully away at Lions Manor Nursing Home, after fighting a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Predeceased by her mother Nellie Connors (1973), father Thomas Connors (2005) and brother Thomas (Junior) (2012).
Leaving to mourn her children Jim (Crystal), Kerry (Eddie), Curtis (Mehdi) and Colin (Holly); her sisters Kathleen, Anne, Eileen (her twin), Marie, Mercedes, Eilish and Patricia, and their families; her grandchildren Bradley (Raya), Brady, Ryan, Brittany (Tanner), Beth, and Lia; her great grandson Kingston; and many special nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
The family would like to acknowledge the exceptional care and dignity provided to her in her final days by the staff at the Lions Manor Nursing Home, as well as the Placentia Health Centre and the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre.
A visitation and a celebration of life will be held at Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia, NL on Sunday, December 23rd from 5-9pm. A prayer service will begin at 7pm. Inurnment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Freshwater on Monday, December 24th at 10am. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Canadian Cancer Society (Daffodil Place)
