It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Verlene Heithoff, 86, peacefully at home with her family at her side on March 5, 2018.
She will be sadly missed by her children Joan (Jim), Nancy (Bob), Rick (Lucille), Wayne (Marg), Randy (Kim), Tom (Judi), Terry (Elaine), thirteen grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.
She is survived by her brother Marvin (Arleen) Chavanu of Omaha, Nebraska, her sister LaDonna Kaukver of Leshara, Nebraska, many nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
Verlene was predeceased in death by her parents; husband Alvin; three sisters: Marion Chavanu, Lenore Bode and Willa Borer; two brothers: Ervin Chavanu and Larry Chavanu.
Verlene was born October 3, 1931 in Petersburg, Nebraska. She married October 4, 1949 where she lived with her husband Alvin and their children until 1965 when they moved to Canada and owned and operated Trout River Lodge near Ear Falls, Ontario until they retired. Following the death of her husband, Verlene moved to Beausejour in 2003 where she happily resided the rest of her life.
The family would like to thank Dr. Van Rensburg, Homecare, and especially Mom’s special angel Gwen Gmiterek for the loving care you gave our mom.
Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday, March 9 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 516 Atlantic Ave., Beausejour, MB.
If you wish, donations may be made in Verlene’s memory to St. Mary Building Fund, Box 760, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0.
