Obituary of Velma MacGillivray
Velma Mae (Nickerson) MacGillivray, age 83, New Minas (formerly from Halifax) passed away on March 27, 2018 at the Valley Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Born in South Side, Cape Sable Island on April 22, 1934, Velma was the daughter of the late Marshall and Mae (Cunningham) Nickerson.
She is survived by her son Clifford McClement (Rica) Halifax; daughter Carolyn Purchase (Newman) New Minas; brothers Melvin, Stewart, and Conrad; granddaughters Tara, Erica, Erin, Alexa; grandsons Torin and Matthew; great grandsons Cale, Jaxon, Ewan, Lucas, Sullivan; great granddaughter, baby Ava; brother-in-law John MacGillivray (Judy) and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Fred MacGillivray; daughter Beverley McClement-Gray; brothers Randall, Mervin, Sable, Donald, George and sisters Margaret, Evernell, Joyce.
Funeral Service will be at Serenity Funeral Home, Wolfville, Saturday March 31, 2018 at 1 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday March 31, 2018 at 1:00 pm in the Wolfville Funeral Chapel. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Society of Nova Scotia. Cremation has taken place with burial to be at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Wolfville Funeral Chapel, 568 Main Street Wolfville (902-542-4656).
