Velma Stevenson of Vista, Winnipeg and Sandy Hook, born June 20, 1935 and passed away November 16, 2018.
Velma was predeceased by her beloved husband John (Jack) Stevenson, and 11 of her 12 brothers and sisters. She leaves her sons Bruce (Edyta), John (Diane) and Blair (Catherine), grandchildren Courtney, Johnathan, James, Justin and Eric, sister Valetta Hogan, and many special members of her extended family.
Velma had a long career with The City of Winnipeg, followed by a wonderful retirement in Sandy Hook, Florida and Texas. She was a warm and caring person, who had a smile and a laugh for everyone she met. She had a special impact on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her and her presence will be missed.
Thank you to the caring staff at Beacon Hill Lodge and Concordia Hospital who were so warm and helpful in the past year.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Should you wish to make a donation in Velma’s memory, the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba is suggested.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Winnipeg Squash Racquet Club, 275 Stradbrook Avenue, Winnipeg at 11:00 AM.
