Thomas
Frederick Kitson, age 67 of Union Centre passed away peacefully,
surrounded by his family on March 6, 2018 at the Aberdeen Hospital,
New Glasgow.
Born in
New Glasgow he was a son of the late Thomas and
Cecilia(Campbell)Kitson.
Tom grew
up in Brown’s Point before moving to Mount William Road and
then to Union Centre. He attended West Pictou District High
School. Tom was most recently employed at
MacCulloch’s Truck Services in Stellarton, where he worked
in the parts department, prior to which he worked for Maritime Auto
Supplies as the paint manager. Tom was an avid Boston Bruins
fan whose fondest memory was getting to see the Bruins play the
Montreal Canadians in Halifax. He spent the last
few years at home with his feline companion Mac, who was
always by his side.
Tom is
survived by his wife Leslie(Lowther)Kitson, daughters:
Cheryl(Donnie)McInnis, Stellarton; Marie(Jeff)MacDonald, Fort
McPherson, NWT; sons: Greg Kitson, Calgary; Bill(Alana Kent), Union
Centre; grandchildren: Cecilia And Emily, Thomas and Jack, a brother
Gordie(Darlene)Kitson, a sister Kaye Kitson, several nieces and
nephews.
Tom was
predeceased by his sisters: Eleanor(Pug)Talbot and Vi
Melanson.
Cremation
to take place.
There
will be no visitation by request. A family memorial service
will be held at a later date.
No
flowers by request. Donations in memory of Tom may be made
to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation, Autism Pictou County
or to a charity of one’s choice.
