Obituary of Thomas Pettit
PETTIT: Thomas Kenneth –
Tom passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on May 6, 2018 at age 77.
Tom was born in Sarnia, Ontario, and was the son of the late George Joseph and Margaret Mae (McCormick) Pettit.
Beloved husband of Judith (nee Carter) Pettit of Chatham and proud master of his beloved Westies, Bonny Lass & Finnegan.
Loving father of Ken (Lisa) of Forest and Janice Core (Dan) of Brigden. Predeceased in 2017 by son Gregory Thomas (Jennifer) of Brantford.
Proud Papa to Dalton, Dakota, Cory, Kady, Seth, Hanna, Isabella, Spencer Thomas and four great grandchildren.
Dear brother of Marlene (Jack) Smith of Sarnia. Predeceased by brothers Patrick (Gloria) of Windsor, Mike (Diane) of St. Thomas and John (Peggy) of British Columbia.
Tom was a member of Maple City Golf & Country Club, The Active Lifestyle Centre and the American Contract Bridge League. He achieved the Life Master award of the A.C.B.L. in 2014. He enjoyed his many years of wintering in Lakeland, Florida and his Woodbrook community there.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, ON, on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm with the funeral service to follow at the Funeral Home.
Donations in memory of Tom may be made out to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation, London Health Sciences Foundation: London Regional Cancer Program, or a charity of your choice.
