Obituary for
Thomas “Thom” Schroeter
On July 25, 2018 Thomas Martin “Thom” Schroeter felt he needed to teach his children a final lesson about death, so he promptly died. Known for making a grand entrance to every party he attended, Thom outdid himself this time. He will be missed for his laughter, pretzels, ability to sing along to every song without knowing the words, his superior sense of fashion, colour-coordination, handymannery, epic roasty-toasties (some of which did not involve local fire departments), and most importantly his love of all living things and conversations with trees.
A private Memorial Service will take place at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772). As expressions of Thom’s fierce commitment to the land and all that grows, Memorial Donations to Akwesasne Freedom School or the Akwesasne Mohawk School Cultural Committee Garden Project would be appreciated by the family.
