It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas Alexandra Estrada 55 years of age at his home on December 30, 2017 in Salmon Arm, BC.
Thomas was born in the Peace River Municipal Hospital in Peace River Alberta to Gaspar and Irene (Mailloux) Estrada.
Some of Tom’s Early Childhood was spent growing up in California. This could explain why Tom hated cold weather and loved to stay warm. He loved it there and at a very young age, tried to go back on his own.
The family later moved to Salmon Arm BC where he spent many exciting years with his two brothers Bob and Ron while also developing life-long friendships.
Tom was an electrician and belonged to the IBEW. He worked on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, Gibson’s BC .The Ocean was a passion for him, and he was fortunate to spend many years of his life working and living on the coast of BC.
Tom later moved to Calgary Alberta in 2003, where he learned a new trade as a Crane operator and Class 1 truck driver. His trade took him all over the City of Calgary and the outskirts. Tom was a wealth of information if you needed to know any alternate routes in and around the city.
His job took him way up North to some pretty spectacular areas in Canada he had many tales from his journeys to tell us of his trips, and the many glorious spots of Canada.
Tom loved life and spoke of how he had no regrets. He lived his life the way he wanted to making the best of whatever life would throw at him.
Tom wasn’t a complainer and never had a bad word to say of anyone. Tom could be counted on and would drop whatever he was doing to help a friend in need. He brought Joy too many people’s lives and truly treasured his family and friends.
Tom chose to spend the last days of his life where he spent his childhood in beautiful Salmon Arm BC.
Tom leaves to mourn his wife Karen, three daughters: Nicole, Tonia, Naomi of Calgary; four grandchildren: Serenity, Nikita. Milena, Talon of Calgary; two nephews: Jeromy of California and Jeffrey of Calgary; his two brothers Robert “Bob” (Kami) of California and Ron (Michelle); biological father Gaspar “Cass”; two stepsisters: Christine and Kim; step brother Shawn, two aunts, two uncles of California, sixteen first-cousins of California and many more second cousins.
He is predeceased by his biological mother Irene (Mailloux) Morton, stepfather Alan Morton, stepmother Bertie Estrada and stepsister Tracy.
If I should ever leave you whom I love, to go along the Silent Way, grieve not nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you there.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Thomas Alexandra Estrada December 30th 2017.source
