– Peter, 93, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Menno Home in Abbotsford. Peter was born in Neuendorf, Ukraine January 25, 1925. He was a loving husband of 52 years to Elvira Thiessen (Rabsch). Preceded in death was his loving wife Elivra (2002) and son Bill (2013); two sisters Katie Dyck and Annie Schultz and brother, Frank Thiessen. He is lovingly survived by his children; Peter (Debbie), Anita (Joe) and Harry (Zoe) and 5 grandchildren; Kristin (Landon), Natalie (Joon), Jaimee, Scott and Brenna (Nic) and 4 great grandchildren; Isaac, Christopher, Sullivan and Jaxon and many relatives and friends. His work consisted of employment with Chilliwack Waterworks, apple picking in the Okanagan, general construction, 16 years with Evans Coleman and Evans Ltd and 17 years as a longshoreman in the ILWU 500. A special thank you to his family at Menno Home who provided him with exceptional care and companionship. A memorial service will be held at Eben-Ezer Mennonite Church, 2051 Windsor Street, Abbotsford Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 11:00 am. He will be buried at the Maclure Road Cemetery beside his wife.
