Theresa Maryann Godin (Duplessis), wife of the late Adolphe Godin, passed away peacefully at the age of 88 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Tuesday August 14, 2018 surrounded by family.
Theresa was born in Loggieville on July 22, 1930. She was the eldest child of the late John Baptiste and Mary (Hebert) Duplessis. She was a life-long member of St. Michael’s Basilica.
She will always be remembered for being the kindest, sweetest woman, who always put everyone before herself-even people she did not know. She never complained about anything. She never spoke bad about anyone. She was always smiling, always joking and had the greatest sense of humour anyone could have.
Besides her parents and husband , Theresa was predeceased by her younger sister Josephine Babineau (Duplessis), and her infant son Raymond Godin.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially be brother: Raymond Duplessis, her six children: Diane Vautour (James), John Godin (Jean), Joe Godin (Barb), Rosemary Lamb, (Edward), Roger Godin (Angel) and Rena Kent (Gilbert), and her 15 grandchildren: Maisie Vautour, James Vautour, John Godin, Michael Godin, Francais Godin, Linda Godin, Jason Godin, Robbie Augustine, Shawn Malley, Julie Malley, Amy Malley, Jessica Murphy, Melissa Benoit, Jennifer Dickson, and Laura Jenkins.
As well as several cousins, nieces , nephews, and many, many great-grandchildren.
The Godin family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the Dr’s and Staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Miramichi Hospital for their care and kindness.
Theresa will be resting at Maher’s Funeral Home Miramichi, on Friday August 17, 2018 from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday August 18, 2018 at 10 am from St Michael’s Basilica with Fr Paul Doucet officiating. Interment will be in St Michael’s Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy a donation to St. Michael’s Basilica Fund in her memory would be appreciated by the family.
