OBITUARY
Sylvia Smith (Nee Bishop)
April 13, 1921 – July 4, 2018
In memory of an inspirational woman who lived a full and joyful life. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sylvia Smith (Nee Bishop), peacefully, Wednesday, July 4th, 2018 at Charles Lemoyne Hospital in Greenfield Park.
Loving wife (Late John Smith), beloved mother of Dawn and Stanley (Lorraine Walker), cherished grandmother of Shawn, Bradley (Lindsay Sharp MacLean) and Jordan.
Sylvia was born in Mineola, New York and moved to Montreal with her family in the mid 1920’s. After a short career in banking, Sylvia joined her husband, John, and his 2 brothers in their business venture, Smith Brother’s florist, where she managed the financial aspect of the business for the next 66 years, and took a well deserved retirement at the respectful age of 95.
Visitations will take place at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home, 307, Riverside, St-Lambert, QC, J4P 1A7 on Wednesday, July 11th from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
A celebration of her life will be held at St-Barnabas Anglican Church, 95 Avenue Lorne, St-Lambert, QC, J4P 2G7 on Thursday, July 12th, at 11 a.m followed by a reception in the main hall.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Charles Lemoyne Hospital and the St-Lambert dialysis’ outpatient clinic for their attentive and compassionate care.
Memorial donations may be made to the Charles Lemoyne Hospital foundation or to the St-Barnabas Anglican Church.
