In Loving Memory
Sydney passed away peacefully with his wife and children by his side on February 22, 2018, at 75 years of age. Loving husband of Golda (née Richstone) for more than 51 years. Proud father of Daniel (Erin Derbyshire) and Sari (Daniel Ting) and cherished grandfather of Noah, Benjamin, Caleb and Nathan. Dear brother of Norma Butterfield (the late David), Kenneth (Ashlyn) and Rhonda.
Sadly, we began mourning Sydney a few years ago, when he was diagnosed with dementia. As the disease progressed, he was slowly taken from us. In spite of his love of children, he was unable to enjoy his grandchildren as we know he would have liked, for he valued family above all else. His love and support were unconditional and he will be greatly missed. The family offers a special thank you to the staff at Peter D. Clark, particularly his regular caregivers, Gina and Jean.
Kelly Funeral Home, 1255 Walkley Road, Ottawa, 613-731-1255 entrusted with arrangements. A Funeral Service will be held at Jewish Memorial Gardens, Osgoode Cemetery, 6549 Herberts Corners Road, Greely on Sunday, February 25 at 3 p.m. Shiva visits at the family home on Sunday following the interment until 9 p.m., Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 p.m.
