Alva Smith late of Barrhead, AB passed away on June 20, 2018 at the age of 87 years. Alva is survived by her loving husband, Joe of 68 years; children, Barry (RoseMarie) Smith, Bonnie (Lance) Bredo, Debbie (Gil) Gaudet, Tammy Smith (Kent), Dale Russell & Harold (Tina) Bartling; 10 grandchildren, Jessica (Yatin), Kevin (Melodie), Alyssa, Charlie (Colleen), Nathan, Rebecca (Stefan), Kalie, Graeme (Stef), Matthew & Ashley; 9 great grandchildren, Oliver, Amara, Leela, Isabelle, Divya, Hazel, Emery, Sage & Clover; also numerous other family and many dear friends. Alva is predeceased by her parents, Annie & Ed Donnelly; brother, Don Donnelly; sister, Vera Carlson. Alva was born in Clyde Alberta. She grew up in Wandering River where she went to school. She moved to Freedom where she met the love of her life, Joe. They were married on June 17, 1950 and made their home at freedom where they raised their family. Alva had a great love for children and especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved To watch Joe play ball and they loved to go fishing together. A Memorial Gathering will be held at 12:00 (Noon) Saturday June 23, 2018 at Barrhead Senior Hall. Memorial Donation may be made to AHS Barrhead Health Care Center or Charity of Choice.
