Obituary Overview
Steven Glenn MacLeod
Steven Glenn MacLeod (1951-2018) – 67 of Dartmouth passed away peacefully on November 30, 2018.
Steven was born in Halifax on November 18, 1951 to parents Murray and Emily (Crooker) MacLeod. Steven was a unique person and you had to get to know him to find out the real Steve. He took so much pride in what he did especially in his career, marketing and sales, where he worked for many years with such organizations as Black & Decker and Stanley Tools. He always challenged the status quo and won many awards. He also liked to go out on his own, where he purchased his own company Rainbow in the early 90’s. He actually started his career during University while working at Zellers in Bedford where his life would change forever, meeting his future wife Joan.
Steven’s other passion was working with his hands. He was so proud of building three homes over his life time and fixing up others. He also had an affinity to help others with many of their construction projects. Steven was always the first to step up and offer help and rarely refused anything when asked.
Steven was very proud of both his children, Natalie and Steven and would light up when discussing their accomplishments and how they both had made him so happy. He loved his “Sobena” and “Junior”.
Steven was diagnosed with Cancer early in September and realized his precious time left was to be spent with his loving family and friends and that is exactly what he did.
Steven was predeceased by his parents, brother Wendall, sister Gail, in-laws, Julia (Gould) and John Henman. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Joan (Henman), daughter Natalie (Adam Johnstone), son Steven, sister Lori (Robert Orgar), grandchildren Abigayle, Jackson, Nolan and Nolan’s mother Kate and many nieces, nephews and relatives. He is also survived by his childhood friend, John Levandier, who always remained his rock.
