Stella Lapatha
STELLA TILLANA LAPATHA, 75, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, MB. She was born on the thick of the Second World War, September 9, 1942, in Isio, Cauayan, Negros Occidental, Philippines. She came to Canada in 1966 to work as a nurse at Municipal Hospital which is now the River View Hospital and then on to Health Sciences
Centre. She also had worked in Cranbrook, B.C., Whitemouth, Vita, Misericordia and retired at St. Boniface hospital.
Stella was a PK (Pastor’s Kid). She was predeceased by her
brothers, Silas and Apollo. She will be lovingly remembered by Jay Saison Lapatha, her adopted daughter and niece, her brother, Noel
Lapatha and sister, Hope Pabon other relatives in Winnipeg who will surely missed her are: Loida Lapatha, Rosina Lapatha
(sisters-in-law), Lancelot Pabon (brother-in-law); Nephews: Silas Lapatha Jr., Emi Joy Lapatha, Philip Lapatha and Jordan Pabon. Nieces: Lois Principe, Grace Loney, Hope Lance Pabon, Florence Ozirney and Emily Pagtakhan. Her grandnieces, Kiana and Anika, will surely say this, “We love you Mama Jane.”
In 1983, Stella was one of the founders of the Filipino Evangelical Church at Spruce and Ellice, Winnipeg.
