Stan Zoledziowski of Spruce Grove, born in Warsaw in 1924, has passed away.
His wife Ala predeceased him in 2002.
During the war, he served in England in the Signal Corps and he took part in the invasion of Europe. Initially, Stan was employed by the Institute of Electrotechnology where he received a State Award for Technical Progress (Warsaw). He loved doing research and he was the author or co-author of some 70 scientific papers in the field of high voltages, dielectrics, electro-physiology and physics until his early retirement from the University of Salford, England as an Honourary Senior Lecturer. He was a Member of the London Institute of Electrical Engineers and of the New York Academy of Sciences. He was listed in the Dictionary of International Biographies, in print and online. During his retirement in Spruce Grove, Stan volunteered his services in PSK, the Golden Age Club, Specialized Transit Services and the Brookwood Condominium. He was an ordinary member of the Legion in Spruce Grove and of PSK in Edmonton. He was an active bridge player. He is survived by his son, Paul, grandchildren, Alex and Jasmine of Perth, Australia, his daughter, Ewa, grandson, Jason, and great-grandson, Alexander of Victoria, B.C., grandson, Sacha, and great-grandchildren Andrew and Elyse, granddaughter, Victoria (Kevin) of Edmonton, and nieces, Kasia of Edmonton and Jadwiga of Warsaw, and their children, Anya and Kacper.
