With faith and hope in the mercy of our God, the Grey Nuns announce the passing of Sister Agnes Sutherland at Youville Home, St. Albert, Alberta on Friday, August 10, 2018 at the age of 92 years.
Sister Agnes was born in Fort Chipewyan, Alberta on April 6, 1926. She joined the Grey Nuns in 1943 and pronounced her vows on August 15, 1946. Sister Agnes was a teacher in St. Albert, St. Paul, Fort McMurray, and Fort Smith. She also worked as a Religious Education specialist. She was known to be very keen in helping the poor and down-trodden in the places where she lived.
She leaves to mourn the Grey Nuns; one sister-in law, Pat Sutherland; many nephews and nieces and all her friends in Fort Smith.
The Grey Nuns wish to express their gratitude to the nursing staff of Youville Home in St. Albert for their compassionate care for Sister Agnes.
