Shirley Maxine Murphy – 83, of Upper Canard,
Kings County passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family,
Sunday, December 30, 2018. Born in Port Williams, she was a daughter
of the late Jesse and Nina England. She was a loving wife, mother and
grandmother. She is survived by daughters, Heather (Ron) Monteith,
Upper Canard; Sheila (Peter) Hughes, Habitant; Sheri, Lower Sackville;
son, Brian, Freetown, PEI; grandchildren, Jeffrey Monteith and Melissa
Monteith (Mike Watson), both of Toronto; Matthew and Ashley Hughes,
Habitant; Clayton Murphy and Jesse Murphy, all of Freetown, PEI and
several nieces and nephews; special friend, Patricia Stockall,
Canning. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Clayton; a son, Blaine; a
granddaughter, Emily Hughes; sisters, Kathleen and Barbara; brothers,
Floyd, Eric and Bruce. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take
place 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service to be held at 2:30 p.m.
Saturday, January 5, 2019, in the White Family Funeral Home,
Kentville. Reverend Maya Bevan officiating. Burial will take place in
St. John’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Church Street, Port
Williams. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the
IWK Children’s Hospital or a charity of your choice. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
