Shirley Marie Flynn

The passing of Shirley Marie (Anthony) Flynn, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, on her 81st birthday, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born on April 11, 1937 in Truro, NS, she was a daughter of the late Bernard “Hiyi” and Mary “Gert” (Currie) Anthony. Shirley was the valedictorian of the Victoria Public Hospital class of 1958. She was a dedicated emergency room nurse for 25 years and later practiced as a mental health nurse at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital until her retirement after 30+ years of nursing. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Heather Flynn of Porters Lake, NS; her sons, Mark Flynn of Napadogan, NB and Stephen Flynn of Grande Prairie, AB; grandchildren, Anise, Elyia, Simeon, Colin, Michael, Mark II, and Jessica; great grandchildren, Marley and Addy. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Michael Flynn; infant granddaughter, Ashley Marie; brother, Donald Anthony; furry companion, Mandy.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 2 to 4 pm. The family wish to thank Dr. Beland and the staff of 3SW at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.
