Shirley passed away peacefully after a very short illness on February 22, 2018. A resident of Armstrong since 1980, she was very active in her community right up until her passing. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge, I.O.O.F., and St. James Anglican Church. Shirley was born in Revelstoke, the third member of a family of six. She married Royce Louis Jackman in Vernon on August 3, 1956. She was a bookkeeper for the CP Railway in Revelstoke.
She was predeceased by her husband Royce; four siblings: Dorrine, Gordon, William, and Audrey; nieces and nephews: Blair, Edwin, Barb, Gloria, and Rob. She is survived by one brother Lawrence, as well as numerous nieces and nephews: Gayle, Lyndon, Ben, Ivan, Angela, Jim, Don, Karen, Craig, Pam, Anne-Marie, Janice, Patricia, Bruce, Tanya, Judy, Gary, William.
Shirley was always willing to help in the community in any way that she possibly could. A memorial Service will be held at St. James Anglican Church in Armstrong on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 1:00p.m. The Right Reverend James A.J. Cowan will be officiating. Cremation with interment to follow in her parents graves in Revelstoke Cemetery.
