KEARNS, Shirley Eileen (nee Harrison)
Shirley peacefully passed away at her home in Kingston, on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at the age of 86. Shirley is survived by children Loretta (Ken) Jarrell, Monica (Randy) Hartwick, Teresa (Brian) Deck, Michael Kearns, Tom (Robin) Kearns, Jacqueline (Dean) Shea, Kathleen (Todd) Funston, and Daniel (Dori-Lyn) Kearns, 23 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Carol (Gordon) Baron. Predeceased by loving husband Andy Kearns (2016) and grandson Michael Kearns, sister Mina Cummings, brother Harry (Kay) Harrison. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Shirley was a member of the St. Joseph’s C.W.L. for 65 years and was an avid member of the Rosewood Knitting group. A heartfelt thank you is extended to the end of life team, including the palliative care physicians and to Dr. Ronald Goldstein for the wonderful care that Shirley received. A special thank you is also extended to Cathy, Laura, Sheila and their team at Magicuts. Resting at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston, on Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 1111 Taylor Kidd Blvd. Kingston on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 11:00 am. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Church, St. Joseph’s Church or to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese (Priest Retirement Fund, by cheque only) in Shirley’s memory.
